Baby Bathtime essentials

Rafe absolutely loves bathtime..he doesn't love getting out of the bath quite so much, but when he's in the tub it's the one time you can guarantee he will be a happy baby! We currently bath him every day, mainly in the evening but sometimes in the morning depending on our schedule.
These are the products and bathtime equipment that I use and have found really helpful.

We didn't bath Rafe until he was seven days old and his umbilical stump had fallen off. I was really scared bathing him for the first time, he seemed so tiny and fragile and I had no zero experience bathing babies before him. Something that I found really helpful was the Angelcare bath support. you just pop into your own bath, it has a level on the front of it to show you how deep the water needs to be in the bath, and you just lay your baby in it and it supports their body and head allowing you to wash them safely. Rafe certainly seems to find it super comfortable and it allows him to kick his legs in the water.

Another really helpful gadget that we bought was the Avent bath thermometer. A babies bath waters temperature should be between 36-37 degrees celcius, this little flower shaped thermometer floats around in the water telling you what temperature it is so you know if it's too hot or getting too cold for your baby.

In terms of bath products the wash I use on Rafe is the 'calming lavender shampoo and bodywash' by Earth friendly baby. It has 99.2% natural ingredients (and you know how I love my natural products). 50.7% of the ingredients are also organic and it does not contain any SLS or parabens. The lavender also smells lovely and is perfect before bed because it has a naturally calming effect to promote sleep.

Another product for after the bath that I use to moisturise Rafe's skin is organic coconut oil. I love using coconut oil for everything from hair masks to currys! This one is organic, raw, virgin coconut oil and I ordered it from Amazon. Coconut oil is antibacterial, antifungal and incredibly moisturising and I personally love the smell of it so I don't mind Rafe smelling like a little coconut.
The other moisturiser I have only recently started using is the Aveeno baby soothing relief emollient cream and I use this on the areas where Rafe has baby acne. The acne has now gone from Rafe's chest and the back of his shoulders but I have yet to see an improvement in the skin on his face. I have only been using it a couple of days though so I will do a complete review when I have used it for a bit longer.
I also use the hooded towels specifically for bathing babies so we can wrap him up warm and soon as we get him out of the bath.
